Fresno State is located in the heart of the world’s most important agricultural region. Today’s farmer worries most about economic survival and maintaining the viability of California agriculture in the world marketplace. Fresno State is finding the answers as it works to sustain California agriculture and pioneers ways to increase production while protecting the environment.

Our viticulture and enology program spurred the emergence of the Central California wine industry. Research in irrigation has established the campus as a world leader in water system design and conservation. Fresno faculty members from multiple disciplines have pursued biotechnology in agriculture, health care, the environment, and homeland security.

Researcher conducts tests on sprinklers in massive indoor lab.The campaign will underscore all of this work with support of the Institute of Food and Nutrition Innovation, the Institute of Viticulture and Enology, the International Center for Water Technology.
