The Campaign for Fresno State will seek support for the Center for Excellence in Literacy Practices to develop new curriculum and teaching methods that will have a lasting impact on the reading skills of children. The Kremen School of Education and Human Development will be one of the first in the state and one of the few in the nation to establish meaningful university leadership in literacy instruction, reading research, and multicultural children’s literature research.

The Central Valley Educational Leadership Institute will expand its work preparing school administrators and educators as they bring the best teaching practices to the region’s most needy schools and communities. The institute is helping over 150 school districts throughout Central California to create cultures of high achievement for students through conferences, training, coaching, and consulting activities.
