Educating Our Children

Fresno State has a rich tradition in the field of education.Our experience in preparing teachers for the classroom dates back nearly a century.

Our curriculum covers everything from teaching preschool to our doctoral program in educational leadership. Now, more than ever, the skills possessed by our faculty members and our students are desperately needed as schools are faced with burgeoning enrollment, budget challenges and cultural change.

Fresno State’s faculty already has helped struggling schools resolve chronic budget problems, deal with violence, and promote family involvement. The campaign will enable us to use what we have learned to solve key problems faced by Central California students — a lack of educational opportunities, poor reading skills, and a high drop-out rate. The problems are real, and need immediate attention, as teachers struggle to provide a solid education to their students.
