Saori Ichikawa-Jansen

The generosity offered to "complete strangers" is what makes Fresno State so special to scholarship recipient Saori Ichikawa-Jansen.

She is pursuing a master's degree in mathematics. Scholarships -- those acts of generosity bestowed from donors to students they don't know -- are helping to support Ichikawa-Jansen on her educational journey.

She plans to become an actuary and says that these scholarship funds have made a difference in her life.

"It not only helped me reach my goals but also taught me how important it is to support others striving to better themselves," Ichikawa-Jansen says. "We should return the favor when we have the chance."
