Brianne Jackson

Health Administration major

Brianne Jackson epitomizes what the spirit of giving is all about as a Verna Mae Brooks Scholar. Through her scholarship, Brianne says she’s learned the importance of giving back.

She maintains a busy schedule, with her major in health administration and her minor in business. She will graduate in Spring 2010 and, after a few years in the health care field, plans to pursue a master's degree. Jackson says she's grateful to have the Brooks scholarship, which covers tuition and other expenses, because it's eased her financial responsibilities and allowed her to focus on her studies. She and other Brooks Scholars also occasionally meet to discuss their projects, which Jackson says encourages and inspires her.

"I feel like I am rewarded for all of my hard work, and that only motivates me to work harder," Brianne said. "I have learned the importance of community involvement, and I plan to lend any services I can provide to my community."
