Heritage Society Member Spotlight - Roxie Moradian
The Moradian estate gift will support the
College
of
Arts
and Humanities and add funds to the Y. Frank Moradian and Roxie Moradian Scholarship Fund established at Frank's death for local
Fresno
State
students majoring in agricultural studies. Frank and his widow, Roxie, shared a love of the arts, particularly music, and a respect for agriculture. Roxie grew up on a
Selma
vineyard where her father pioneered bleaching raisins to create golden raisins. She didn't stray far from her agricultural roots when she married Frank (Yeppy), a grain salesman for Penny-Newman, a company Roxie and Frank eventually purchased. Of their generosity to
Fresno
State
, Roxie says, "Frank was born in
Fresno
and we've made our home and success here. We've always supported
Fresno
State
."
